WhatsApp has suffered a fall this Wednesday, May 3, leaving the instant messaging service without operation.
The services of the popular application, owned by Facebook, were temporarily suspended in many parts of the world, according to users and monitoring pages of social networks.
The website Downreport recorded a sharp increase in reports of suspension of WhatsApp services starting at 17.00 local time on the East Coast of the United States (21.00 GMT), both in the US and in parts of Europe, Latin America and Africa.
Neither WhatsApp nor Facebook, the parent company of the messaging services, have reported, so far, the causes of the drop in the service of the popular application.
WhatsApp has more than one billion active users and is one of the most popular mobile and web applications on the internet.
The users have transmitted their complaints through social networks. The theme has become Trending Topic on Twitter.
