Samsung attributes the failures of the Galaxy Note 7 to battery defects
The South Korean company was forced to withdraw its flagship product from the market
Samsung has attributed the failures of the Galaxy Note 7 to battery defects on Monday, according to the results of the investigation after the world's largest telephone manufacturer was forced to withdraw its flagship product from the market.
Internal and independent investigations "concluded that batteries were the cause of the Note 7 incidents," the company said in a statement.
The study indicates that some of the lithium-ion batteries studied had internal short circuits and that some also lacked insulation membranes due to errors in the manufacturing process.
The investigation has been carried out for a month by the South Korean technology company and three other organizations: the American consultants UL and Exponent, and the German company of technical inspection and certification TÜV Rheinland.
