Samsung prepares its Galaxy S8 to avoid distractions at the wheel
The app is in beta in the Netherlands
The increase in the popularity of social networks led to an increase in the number of deaths in the United States in 2016, according to data from the National Road Safety Administration. Post on social networks, send a whatsapp or even play with the smartphone has caused numerous traffic accidents.
Therefore, public authorities and technology work together to raise awareness of the risks of using these devices while driving. Samsung has gotten to work and has launched the Galaxy S8 equipped with the InTraffic Reply application.
This app is designed to help people avoid using their phones while driving automatically by sending predefined answers when they are on the move.
Thanks to its configuration, the system uses the GPS sensor of the smartphone to find out when it is driving. This allows calls and messages to be answered automatically, either with a default response of "I'm driving" or "an animated image, or a personalized message."
Samsung, however, has not clarified what will happen to the app if the traveler is a co-pilot or simply travels on public transport. The application is in beta in the Netherlands, and is expected to reach the Google Play Store in May.
