Amazon earns 663 million euros in the first quarter, 41% more
Net sales of this sales company via internet totaled 32,691 million euros
Amazon, the business giant of sales via Internet, registered a net profit of 724 million dollars (663 million euros) in the first quarter of 2017, which represents an advance of 41% over the same period of the previous year, according to informed the company itself.
Amazon's net sales totaled 35,714 million dollars (32,691 million euros) between the months of January and March, 23% more than a year before, with an increase of 15% in the sale of products and an increase of 40% in billing for services.
On the other hand, the operating expenses of the North American multinational increased by 24%, to total 34,709 million dollars (31,771 million euros).
For the next quarter, the company expects to reach a level of sales between 35,250 and 37,750 million dollars (32,267 and 34,556 million euros), which would imply a growth of between 16% and 24% in relation to the second quarter of 2016, with a negative impact of 720 million dollars (659 million euros) from the change of currency.
Likewise, Amazon expects its operating profit to be reduced between 17% and 67% between the months of April and June in relation to the previous year, standing at between 425 and 1,075 million dollars (389 and 984 million euros).
