Facebook launches its Messenger Lite in Spain
This new version takes less time to connect and consumes less data
Facebook is one of the most aggressive apps with smartphones. The mobile version of the social network of Mark Zuckerberg consumes a lot of battery and occupies more than 400 megabytes when installing it. That is why Facebook engineers have gone to work to create a Lite version.
A new app aimed at emerging markets with slow connections and, above all, expensive ones. Although, the company of Palo Alto (United States) has changed its strategy and has released light versions in Western countries.
This Friday, Messenger Lite has landed in the virtual stores of Google and Apple in Spain. The director of the Messenger service has pointed out that Facebook Messenger Lite does not need much memory, and that Messenger Lite gives the possibility to talk with 1.2 billion users.
The application does not modify the functionality of its normal version. You can send messages, photos, voice notes, stickers and likes. Although, the call option is disabled, notifications of these appear in the chat.
Facebook Messenger Lite has just made its debut in 150 new countries. Few countries will be without their version of Messenger Lite.
